as a reformed fashion designer, who occasionally falls of the wagon, I certainly remember the frustrations of finding a decent work surface when away from a proper cutting table. well worry no more. Icelandian (Icelandi, Icelander?) Sruli Recht, in collaboration with Formfast, has created a sturdy, portable, and most importantly, usable table from cardboard. Cutting Table #1 breaks down flat to pack in it's case for transport (or just out of the way when not needed) then can be pieced back together for whatever you may need the workspace for! including 3 collapsable drawers, Jute strap moving/storing box, laminated white surface top and the best part is if a piece gets damaged all parts are replaceable, so just recycle the old and pop in a new one. starting at $400(USD) it is not the cheapest piece of cardboard, but it is a bright idea that will definitely be useful for the right crowd. available at Birkiland and Liborious.
